We travelled in the RSL bus, which created a good start to the day; everyone was happy and in a positive mood.
With Echuca being one of the top teams, it was always going to be a great test for the team.
The weather was great and we all got off to a good start.
Rod Reid’s team of Chris Frampton, Archie Webster and Peter Thommers got off to a great start and never looked like losing all day.
Final score was 21-12, with the Diggers enjoying a nine shot win.
Niels Hilton’s team of Graham Gordon, Miro Peterman and Neville Austin started off on the back foot.
Echuca got the jump on them and were proving a hard opposition.
Once on the board, Hilton’s team settled and when scores were parked on 6-10.
The Diggers scored a six, putting them in front.
That was the impetus they needed, and they didn’t look back from there.

Craig Taylor’s team of Allan Hodges, Ian McKenzie and Ron Marchetti had a hard fought contest all day.
Never was there more than a few shots between them all game.
In the end it came down to the final end.
Holding two shots, they unfortunately dropped two, ending in a hard fought draw at 20 shots a piece.

It was a great morale boosting win for the club over a great team that are very hard to beat.
The atmosphere on the bus was electric on the way home, and a few well deserved beverages were had on return.
