Division 1 enjoyed a handy lead for the first half of their contest, but Tongala did their best work late to run out comfortable winners, 61 shots to 51.
Jamie Shields called the shots for Andrew Holloway, Peter Todd and Steve O’Brien in their 21-16 victory, but Rob Morris’ rink was defeated 12-20, as was Conway Bovell’s rink, 17 shots to 25.
Division 2 had a good tussle with Stanhope, claiming a win on two of the three rinks, but ultimately being defeated, 53 shots to 58.
Tony Tonta’s side won by a solitary shot, 19-18, and Tyler Hillier, Mick Atley, Mark Tasker and Jo Bovell (skip) went even better when they got home 19 shots to 13.
Unfortunately, Bruce Clancy’s team was defeated, 15-27, leaving the overall five shot deficit.
Division 3 had a huge percentage boosting win when they accounted for Tongala, 99 shots to 49.
Jenny Tonta, Keith Hay, Lloyd Ritchie and Scott Vesty (skip) were made to work hard for their 30-27 victory, but the other two rinks had mammoth wins.
Tony Danckert led his side of Mike Donohue, Jill Grimshaw and Ken ‘Titch’ Salter to a big 30-11 win, and Lindsay Dalzell, Winnie Pattinson, Callen Glenn and Linda Harris (skip) romped home, 39 shots to 11.
Both Division 5 teams carried on their winning way, with the White side accounting for Lockington in a very close encounter, 43 shots to 41.
Wayne Bradley’s rink drew 20-all, while Lee Pattinson’s team claimed a hard-fought 23-21 victory.
It was a little more decisive for the Blue team when they beat Rich River, 45 shots to 37.
Col Knuckey’s crew were defeated, 14 shots to 21, but John Murray, Tony King, Ian Chessells and Alan Hardcastle (skip) had a very good day in winning 31-16, to ensure the overall eight shot victory.
