They triumphed in a heart-stopping season decider over the Moama Steamers, held at the Deniliquin Bowling Club on Tuesday.
The Diggers looked down and out with only a few ends to play but a stunning run home on the rink led by Ron Marchetti tipped the scales in their favour.
Marchetti, Wayne Bradley, Ken Bowden and Allan Hodges were seemingly out of the contest, trailing 12/21 with three ends to play. However, they dug deep, scoring a single, then a 2 on the penultimate end.
They then turned the contest around, scoring a game high 6 on the final end to force a 21 all tie.
Rod Reid (s), Archie Webster, Niels Hilton and John Wilson led narrowly 13/12 with two ends remaining after the completion of the neighboring rink.
They finished confidently with 3 shots on the final two ends to win 16/12.
In the space of three ends across the two rinks the Diggers had engineered an 8 shot turnaround to complete a stunning 4 shot victory - 37/33.
