Division 1 were more than competitive on two rinks, but still suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Stanhope, going down 46 shots to 73.
Steve O’Brien’s team failed by a solitary shot, while Chris Taylor, Peter Todd, Jo Bovell and skip Paul Clear claimed a solid 22-18 victory.
Unfortunately Craig Hillier’s side was thumped by 30 shots when they were defeated 8-38 (similar to Bob Massie’s bowling figures all those years ago at Lord’s).
It was a much better story for Div 3, with both rinks cruising home against Ky Valley View, for an overall 37 shot victory, 56-19.
Ian Chessells led his team to a 29-9 win, and Ken Salter’s crew also had a comfortable victory, 27 shots to 10.
