It will be a fun-packed day while raising money for a great cause. Assembly is at 9am with a 10am shotgun start in a four-person ambrose format, so get your team organised.
The $200 per team entry fee includes a MND beanie or socks, plus barbecue lunch and snacks after golf. There will also be raffles and a silent auction.
Golfers and non-golfers are encouraged to support this event. Bookings are on the website, or at the club pro shop (phone 5881 3333).
Nominations are also being accepted for the Big Freeze dumping, which will also be lots of fun (for those watching!).
On course in the past week, we had the women’s fourball knockout qualifier on Thursday. Winners were Pauline Sherwin and Lyn O’Brien with 42 points on countback to Ali Ferguson and Kerran Leetham.
Saturday was a stableford event with three grades. A-grade winner was Kooringal Golf Club visitor Lucas Elliott with 36 points on countback to Ross Taylor; B-grade Ken Maher 37 on countback to Andrew Bell, a visitor from Commonwealth Golf Club, and C-grade winner was Sue Butcher with 37 points from runner-up Prue Chalmers 35.
On Wednesday, the A-grade winner was Chris Thomson with 37 points from runner-up George Willis 34; B-grade winner Des Ramsey 35 from runner-up Peter Beckton 34, and C-grade winner Gary Freckleton 39 from runner-up Graeme Rothwell 34.
Belated congratulations to Wayne Hodgson, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday last week by scoring a hole-in-one on the 9th.
Coming up we have a versus par event tomorrow, 9 holes stroke on Tuesday, stableford on Wednesday and stroke on Thursday.
Next weekend is the popular Winter Classic, which is fourball best ball stableford on both Saturday and Sunday. There will be 18 hole events each day, plus a 36 hole event, so get your partner organised and enter online.
Friday Night Fun continues tonight, with happy hour from 6pm to 7pm and raffle tickets on sale from 6pm. And don’t miss the new menu from Café 100, with lots of delicious meals, all at a reasonable price.
