There is excellent prize money up for grabs across all grades, with 18 hole stableford events on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the overall 36 holes.
While entries have officially closed, late entries may be accepted depending on time slot availability.
In results over the past week, last Thursday was stableford over 9 and 18 holes.
The 9 holes winner was Esther Bolton with 20 points from runner-up Jan Lord on 18, and in the 18 hole event the winner was Sue Butcher with 41 points from runner-up Shandra Simpson 40.
Saturday was versus par, when Ross Taylor warmed up for the Longest Day golf challenge to record +2 and win A-grade on countback to John Radeski.
B-grade winner was Jen Choice on +4 from runner-up Simon Tilders +3, and C-grade Stephen Townsend +3 from runner-up Ken Maher +1.
In Wednesday’s stableford event the A-grade winner was Peter Oddy with 38 points from runner-up Oscar Marshall on 37.
Congratulations to Oscar who scored a hole-in-one on the 9th during a social round on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s B-grade winner was Geoff Mulham with 39 points on countback to Graeme Rothwell, and C-grade winner was probably our oldest competing member, John Metcalfe, with 39 points from runner-up Jaxon O’Donnell 38.
On Monday, a local contingent travelled to Kyabram Parkland Golf Club to contest the first event in 2026 for Goulburn Valley Veteran Golfers Association, which was fourball best ball.
Best performed were Ian Campbell and Norm Purtill who narrowly missed the runners-up trophies, while Norm also claimed a nearest-the-pin.
The next GV Vets event is on Monday, February 9 at Numurkah, with a list of those attending on the noticeboard in the pro shop.
Next week there is 9 holes stableford on Tuesday, stableford on Wednesday, 9 holes stableford and 18 holes versus par on Thursday and a fourball best ball stableford next Saturday.
Congratulations to Ross Taylor and his crew who played 72 holes on Sunday to raise money for the Cancer Council in the Longest Day of Golf.
Their total exceeded $4000, which was an exceptional effort.
Also, commiserations to the pennant team which narrowly lost the final to Finley on Sunday.
