Josh had net 72 to win the medal and Saturday’s A-grade event, while Sacha had net 72 to finish runner-up in B-grade last Thursday, which was enough to take out the ladies’ medal.
The A-grade runner-up on Saturday was Digger Ring with net 73; B-grade winner was Jenny Swainger 74 from runner-up Duncan McQuie 76, and C-grade winner was Marg Radeski net 69 from runner-up Fiona Milward 75.
Last Thursday, the A-grade winner was Ross Taylor net 74 from runner-up Kerran Leetham 75, and B-grade winner was Zach Reckless net 69.
On Wednesday, the A-grade winner was Colin Drummond with 39 points on countback to Chris Thomson; B-grade winner Norm Purtill with an impressive 42 points from runner-up Peter Beckton 36, and C-grade winner was John Henderson with 38 points from runner-up Dick Bolton 37.
On Monday, a small contingent from Deniliquin travelled to Kialla for the latest round in the Goulburn Valley Veterans’ competition. The best performed was John Radeski, who was runner-up in A-grade.
Coming up we have a stableford event tomorrow, then next week it is 9 holes stroke on Tuesday, stableford on Wednesday, then 9 and 18 holes stableford on Thursday.
Next weekend is the Deniliquin Open, with ladies’ stroke on Friday, followed on Saturday by the Deniliquin Men’s Open and also a ladies’ stableford event. The Friday event will be 10am shotgun start and the Saturday event is tee booking from 10am.
A special event to put in your diary is the MND charity day on Sunday, June 1.
This fundraiser is one of the best days on the Deniliquin golfing calendar, supporting research into motor neurone disease.
Golfers and non-golfers are welcome in the four-person ambrose event; 10am shotgun start.
Members and guests are advised there will be reduced dining room hours this week as Café 100 takes a break.
Meals are available tonight, but the kitchen will be closed next Wednesday and Thursday. Back to normal trading from next Friday.
