Riverina Watermatic claimed victory over JC Earthworks with a strong performance, finishing nine sets to five and 74 games to 46.
Match highlights included Charlotte Gatacre and Harriet Maher securing JC Earthworks’ first set of the day, in a thrilling tie-break against Andrew Frost and George Pisasale.
The opening singles set was also a nail-biter between Stella Chadderton and Oli Hall, with Oli edging out the win in a tie-break.
Stella finished the day partnering with her brother Jed, with the siblings claiming a comfortable victory over Charlotte King and Oli, 6-3.
Charlie Eastman, playing as a reserve for Riverina Watermatic, stood out as the only player to win all three sets this week.
Despite a short rain delay early in the match, the contest delivered exceptional tennis and showcased the skill and determination of both teams.
The grand final presentation included the prestigious Three Set Winner Award for the season, which came down to a countback. Oli Hall was the eventual winner.
Saturday week also marked the final Hotshots session before the Christmas break.
Despite a slightly disrupted session due to rain, the kids remained enthusiastic and finished on a high note, enjoying a festive treat from Tubby’s Ice Cream Van to celebrate the end of term.
To conclude the final round of tennis for this year, the club extends its heartfelt thanks to the amazing parents, families, and friends of junior tennis who assist in running the program week in and week out.
Without your support, this program would not be possible.
We look forward to your ongoing support in the second half of the season after Christmas.
Junior tennis will recommence on February 14, once school has resumed.
