Moama played a physical and composed game that we simply could not match or withstand for four quarters.
We started strongly but took our foot off the pedal, which allowed them back into the game and gave them momentum.
There were patches throughout the game where we showed strength and fought hard, but it ultimately wasn’t enough against a well-drilled opponent.
The effort and determination were there, however, consistency across all four quarters remains an area we will continue to work on moving forward.
A real positive from the day was being able to give one of our juniors, Hannah McBurnie, exposure to A-grade level. She stepped up well and the experience will be valuable for her development going forward.
Awards: Steph Birk, Amelia Seignior, Ella Park.
B-grade: Deni Rams 32 def by Moama 58.
Moama were simply too strong for us.
They showed a great balance of youth and experience, which proved difficult for our youngsters to match up against.
The positive from games like this is the valuable experience our younger players gain. They continue to learn what it takes to compete against strong, well-rounded teams and what is required to become a great team ourselves.
As always, we focused on our patience and composure, particularly when trying to break down Moama’s defensive pressure.
These are areas we continue to improve on every week, and despite the result, there were still plenty of important lessons and growth from the game.
Awards: Aysha Mitsch, Shontai O’Callaghan, Lucy Pitt.
