Mathoura Public School held its annual athletics carnival in June, with students showcasing their determination, athleticism, and sportsmanship across the track and field.

Every participant gave their best in each event, with runners, jumpers, and throwers demonstrating exceptional commitment and skill, resulting in some remarkable achievements.

The athletes were supported by an enthusiastic school community, with parents, grandparents, family members, and friends cheering loudly from the sidelines.
There was plenty of action to keep spectators engaged as students participated in a range of track events, including the 800m, 200m, and 100m, as well as various field events.

Sub-junior students enjoyed a fun-filled day competing in track events, long jump, discus, and a variety of novelty activities.
The day culminated with all students taking part in a relay event, followed by an entertaining race against parents and staff, with Rhys Glenn earning the title of fastest sprinter.

Gulpa emerged as the winning house with 159 points, closely followed by Moira with 143 points.

11 Years Boy - Tristan Hadjialexiou; runner-up Jimmy Hullah.
Sub Junior Girl - Frankie Ward; runner-up Evelyn Cantlon.
Sub Junior Boy - Wally Duggan; runners-up Spencer S, Riley Glenn.

A special congratulations go to our Sportsmanship Award winner, Kade Harris.
Despite recently having a fractured arm, which limited his participation in some events, Kade assisted with the running of high jump and long jump, and took part in every running event, finishing each race with a smile on his face.
Well done to all students for their outstanding efforts, and thank you to our school community for making the day memorable.
