With Christmas just around the corner and pleasant summer weather predicted, the golf course is expected to be a hive of activity.
So whether it is a social game or a competition, it will be the ideal time to enjoy a hit.
Competition days will be as follows: Tomorrow – stableford; Tuesday – 9 holes stableford; Wednesday – stableford; Saturday (Dec 27) – stableford.
The following Saturday will be monthly medals.
Saturday was a versus par event with only two grades.
A-grade winner was Mark Thomas +4 from runner-up Jenny Swainger +3, and B-grade winner Robin Hood +5 from runner-up Grace Tiri +4.
Last Thursday there were 18 hole and 9 hole stableford events.
The 18 hole winner was Pauline Davis with 38 points on countback to Marg Menadue.
The 9 hole winner was Pauline Sherwin with 19 points from runner-up Judy Gatacre 17.
There were some impressive scores in Wednesday’s stableford event.
A-grade winner was Graeme Willoughby with 38 points on countback from Gary Stephens; B-grade Ron ‘Moot’ Turner 42 points from runner-up Toby Rae 40, and C-grade Graham Flanagan 42 points from runner-up Jeff ‘Dickie’ Grant on 37.
The club’s 2025 annual general meeting was held last night, and will be covered in more detail in coming weeks.
However, it’s fair to say the club has some significant financial challenges ahead and will need the support of all members.
The coming week offers the ideal chance to have a pre-Christmas gathering, and what better place than the club’s Flagstick Bistro?
It is open six days a week for lunch and dinner.
Tomorrow it will feature ‘Italian Night’.
Friday Night Fun continues tonight, with raffle tickets on sale from 6pm and draws at 7pm.
Prizes will include hams, just in time for Christmas.
