This was an incredibly close contest from the first whistle to the last. The Dees showed plenty of determination, worked hard for one another, and never gave up.
Every player contributed, with great teamwork, relentless effort, and plenty of grit keeping the game on a knife’s edge.
Unfortunately, despite giving it everything they had, the side fell just one goal short at the final siren.
While not the ideal result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, especially the effort, resilience, and fight shown by the entire team.
The Dees would also like to thank Rennie for the care they showed to one of our players when they went down with a bad injury. The concern and help were appreciated.
B-grade: Jerilderie 46 def by Rennie 55
The Dees braved the icy winter conditions at home against Rennie and produced another determined performance. True to their form this season, they were right in the contest, with the scores locked at half-time before trailing by just two goals at the final break.
Rennie managed to build momentum in the last quarter, capitalising on a string of centre turnovers to extend the margin. Despite the setback, the girls never gave up and continued to fight until the final siren, eventually going down 46–55.
C-grade: Jerilderie 31 def by Rennie 48
The team came in with a change to the offensive end.
The defenders were on point and kept it up all game, grabbing intercepts and putting pressure on their players.
Overall, the vibe of the game was fantastic with great sportsmanship from both sides, though Rennie proved too strong for the home side.
C-reserve: Jerilderie 22 def by Rennie 29
The side seemed to have lost their mojo from the previous week’s great performance, and went down to Rennie 22-29.
The first half was not representative of how the girls can perform, with sloppy passes, bunching and poor decision-making. After regrouping at half-time, they came out firing and managed to win the second half, showing resilience and determination - albeit too little too late.
Laura Ham took home the BOC, with other award winners Lauren Hall and Carina Rorato.
Under-17’s: Jerilderie 40 def by Rennie 72
It was a freezing day at home against second on the ladder Rennie, knowing from the outset that it was going to be a tough contest. The focus before the game was for the girls to be switched on from the first whistle, and they rose to the challenge against strong opposition.
While Rennie were too strong, the Dees never gave up and continued to fight until the final whistle.
Under-15’s: Jerilderie 24 def by Rennie 33
Despite a nine goal loss, the girls held strong for the entirety of the game, never dropping their heads and always putting up a great contest to try and narrow the score. BOC Milla Rorato played an epic game in defence, reading the play well and gaining multiple intercepts.
Keeping up with Rennie’s strong side, rolling subs worked well, with fresh legs keeping the play consistent and maintaining a steady score line.
Under-13’s: Jerilderie 30 def Rennie 14
A fantastic game, with all the hard work at training really paying off.
The shooters worked the ring beautifully, midcourt created spaced and kept the ball moving, and the defensive pressure was outstanding.
A great team performance all round and a deserving win.
Under-11’s: Not scored.
A fantastic morning of netball, with the Under 9’s putting on a wonderful display, before the Under 11’s took on a slick and skilful Rennie side.
The girls showed great determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the game, continuing to improve every week.
