The Rovers are coming off a successful home round against Tocumwal but will be out to prove they can bring some of that form on the road.
It will be a challenge, especially in the A-grade and B-grade netball and senior football, as the Tigers have only lost three games for the season.
Seniors football coach Alex Hay said the contest against Tocumwal showed the team’ resilience despite conditions.
“It was a tough game against Tocumwal last weekend, but we knew it would be.
“The conditions certainly slowed things up a little bit, and we really had to embrace the contest.
“I was pretty happy with that part of our game and then to get it on the outside, some of our ball movement was pretty impressive.
“They probably got the better of us in the second quarter, and we just lost a bit of focus.
“It was pleasing that we were able to come out after half-time and take control.”
This week, the Rovers’ opponents are the reigning premiers in senior football.
While they lost by seven points away against Jerilderie last week, Hay said the Tigers will be a top-level test for his team.
“I know that Katamatite have had a few out over the last month, some of which they will get back, and they will be really keen to build their form before the bye.
“They're also bringing in a couple of handy players with a truck load of AFL experience.
“But I'm seeing that as a wonderful opportunity for our guys to be playing some seriously elite footballers, which they will learn a lot from.
“I expect they will be bringing in a fairly large crowd, so it should be a good atmosphere.
“Having said that, we have shown that if we can get our pressure somewhere near our best, we have the style of game that is able to match it with the top teams.
“I can't wait for us to be able to showcase that.”
With squads tested by injuries at this time of year, Hay said the side will be looking to make the most of their opportunities in what remains of the season.
“Unfortunately, again, the weekend took a bit of a toll on the group.
“Pending training, it looks like we will be a few down.
“That is really going to test our depth, but we have had strong numbers on the track, and we have also carried the squad mentality - where it's next man up and playing a role - which has served us well.
“It's going to be a huge month with some crucial games coming up.
“We'll prepare to get through this week, and then look to launch into the back end of the year, hopefully freshened up after the bye.”
