After dominating the centre clearances and applying great pressure early, we were unable to capitalise on our scoreboard opportunities, allowing Tocumwal to kick the first goal of the game.
The boys eventually settled, with Ryan Squires causing plenty of headaches up forward and Charlie Rennie providing a strong target.
Their efforts helped the boys convert their chances and take control of the contest.
Through the second and third quarters, Archer Moodie continued to lead the way with his strong two-way running, providing a calming influence across the ground.
The big bodies of Lincoln MeHarry, Liam Taylor, Dannon Leetham and Thomas Ives took control, creating plenty of forward entries while also setting up strongly behind the footy.
Tocumwal were able to capitalise on a couple of undisciplined moments from the Rovers, kicking two goals.
After a strong three-quarter-time reminder about what the boys were there to do, they responded brilliantly, holding Tocumwal goalless in the final term.
A special shoutout to the backline, led by Reece King, Stuart Benger, Fletcher Campion and Jobe Unwin, who shut down many of Tocumwal’s attacking opportunities while also providing early attacking drive from defence.
Haydn Sampson played a super, consistent game across half forward, working tirelessly all day to help the Rovers secure a comfortable 44-point victory in tricky conditions.
Fourths
Third-placed Rovers took on fourth-placed Tocumwal on a soft track at Memorial Park.
The Rovers made a strong start, adapting well to the slippery conditions and controlling the contest early, kicking four goals to nil in the opening quarter.
Lucas Braybon, Jett Boyer, Callan Leiper and Jack Brown provided plenty of options up forward, while Sam Strong, Taj McCully and Jed Fitzmaurice gained plenty of opportunities through the midfield thanks to the outstanding ruck work of Ged O’Donnell.
To Tocumwal’s credit, they fought back strongly in the second half and applied plenty of pressure.

Braxton Leetham and Carter Sartore were instrumental in defence, repelling many of Tocumwal’s forward 50 entries and helping the Rovers maintain control.
In the end, the young Rovers went on to record a convincing 49-point victory, a great result that further cements their position inside the top four on the ladder.
