Kyabram interleague representatives Zac Norris, Jack Russell and Aidan Robinson did what they could for the GVL, but the league was well beaten by VAFA.
The Goulburn Valley League was brushed aside by a physical, stronger and faster Victorian Amateurs team in their interleague clash at Elsternwick Park on Saturday.

The GVL held its own in two of the quarters, but was overwhelmed in the second and last quarters as it nose-dived to a 93-point loss.
The amateurs side was far more organised and quicker than the GVL, which lacked the dominant players to influence the result.
Kyabram’s Jack Russell was an exception in the midfield and his four-quarter display won him the best GVL player award.

Kyabram’s other two representatives in the GVL side, ruckman Zac Norris and defender Aiden Robinson, also showed out at times, particularly early.
Apart from Russell, Shepparton’s Jack Watts, Benalla’s Nick Warnock, Mark Marriott and Kevin Maroney, Mansfield’s Harry Mahoney and Shepparton Swans’ Ollie Warburton had their positive moments in the clash.
But a six-goal second quarter and a 10-goal last term blitz paved the way for the host’s dominant 20.9 (129) to 5.8 (38) win.
Benalla mentor Nick Pearson, who was head coach of the GVL, said the difference between the two sides was pretty clear.
“They just had a bit more link up run and carry, that’s what it was,” he said.
“They looked like they had a brand of footy that they played better than us and, at the end of the day, if you can't get the ball off them, you can't score.
“We just couldn’t get the ball off them enough today.”
Regardless of the result, though, Pearson was still enamoured with the interleague experience.
Final scores:
VAFA 2.0, 8.3, 10.6, 20.9 (129)

Despite a gallant performance the Victorian Amateur Football Association ran away with the win against Goulburn Valley League, in the under-19 interleague clash.
In the clash, the GVL suffered a 40-point loss, 14.14 (98) to 8.10 (58).

GVL under-19 coach Ramadan Yze stated it was a “hot” start, but was impressed with how his boys reeled the contest back.
Yze commended the Big V outfit and the players’ ability to adapt to heavy wind.
“I think the VAFA boys handled the conditions a lot better than we did,” he said.
“They were a lot cleaner with the ball than we were.
“It was a five or six-goal breeze, so we had to change our tactics depending which way we were going to try to score some goals.
“But the intent was really good by our boys, they just handled the conditions a bit better than we did.”
