The outstanding performance continued his swimming feats at a national level.
Coming off a swimming hiatus to compete in the championships held from September 26 to October 1, Luca competed in the 14-year boys age group.
He swam in eight events over four days against competitors from all over Australia, in 50m, 100m and 200m across breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and individual medley disciplines.
Luca’s father Rohan said the country championships experience was a good way for Luca to build ahead of the swimming season.
“Luca had just come off a break after competing at the Australian age championships in Brisbane this year where he had some great results and experience.
“He decided to give his body a break after nationals and give the short course season a miss to be fresh for this year’s long course competition.
“The first event back was the NT country championships held in Darwin, and he had some excellent results again bringing home four gold medals in the 200 IM, 200 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 50 breaststroke events and four new PB times.
“Luca is back into full training now preparing for the Mattioli Victorian age championships held at MSAC Melbourne on December 10.”
Setting personal bests in the 50m breaststroke (31.45s), 100m breaststroke (1.09.21m) and twice in the 100m freestyle (1.01.62m), the young swimmer has shown consistent improvement in the pool.
