Taylor, with support from club members, travelled to Stanhope for the match.
The RSL champion had won two big games to get to the finals two weeks prior, and faced Rochester's Robert Clayton in the battle to 25 shots.
Taylor started well and was seven shots up as Clayton struggled to find his groove.
The conditions were a little breezy; however, Clayton found his length and took the lead.
Not giving up, Taylor fought hard but Clayton prevailed and the final score was 25-20.
The Diggers stayed on to watch the finals, particularly Deni’s Carly Crothers, who won her semi-final and went on to play in the final.
Crothers played a brilliant game against Moama’s Cassandra Millerick.
Leading most of the game, her display of spectacular bowling and great sportsmanship caused spectators to comment that the ladies final was better to watch than the men alongside them.
When Millerick changed her game, she took the lead, but Crothers did not give up. The game finished with a thrilling 23-25 victory to Millerick.
RSL Diggers congratulated Taylor on reaching the semi-final, and Crothers for being runner-up.
