Just 13 years-old and representing the Deniliquin Bowling Club, Hillier competed in a field of 79 open age entrants from across the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields region.
Despite being the youngest competitor in the event, the promising junior showed impressive composure and skill as he progressed through the rounds.
Hillier’s consistent draw bowling and calm approach under pressure saw him advance all the way to the final, where he faced an experienced opponent.
In a competitive match, Hillier battled hard before finishing runner-up 21-14, capping off an outstanding tournament.
The performance is a significant achievement for the young Deniliquin bowler, who continues to develop his game while competing against senior players across the region.
For Deniliquin Bowling Club, Hillier’s result is a proud moment and a clear sign of the strength of the club’s emerging junior talent.
