It was a hotly contested clash from the first whistle to the final siren, as the Rams girls went goal-for-goal with a composed Congupna side.
Right from the outset, the match was tight, with neither team able to break away.
We held a minimal lead at each of the first three breaks, but despite our best efforts, we just couldn’t manage to pull clear.
Our intensity never dropped, and the team worked hard across the court to create opportunities.
Once again, young gun Emma Parks was instrumental in our drive.
We needed three of her out there this week - her relentless pressure and creativity through the mid-court was a standout.
She combined brilliantly with Eve Gregor, who provided drive and smarts through transition to give us as many chances as possible to punch into attack.
Ella Harvey was steady as always in her role as our swing girl in attack, adapting to the flow of the game and providing consistent delivery and support throughout.
Despite our efforts, Congupna kept their composure under pressure and found a way to push ahead in the dying minutes, eventually taking the lead and holding on to claim a hard-fought win.
Hats off to Congupna, who played an absolute ripper.
Awards: Emma Parkes, Eve Gregor, and Ella Harvey.

The girls worked hard all game, and while the scoreboard didn’t go our way, there were plenty of moments to be proud of.
Keely Hussey was tireless in defence, covering every pocket of the court and offering crucial back-up through the mid-court.
Macy Butcher impressed again in mid-court, controlling the tempo and delivering clean feeds under pressure.
Ayla Nganeko was solid as ever in GK, applying plenty of pressure and working hard to break up Congupna’s attacking flow.
In the final quarter, with the margin already out to 20, we decided it was time to get creative.
Our defensive dream team stepped into the shooting ring for a bit of a shake-up, and let’s just say, they proved they are very committed to keeping goals out. But then, magic happened.
Keely sank one glorious goal. Sadly, it didn’t quite claw back the 20-goal deficit, but it was absolutely worth celebrating like a match-winner.
A tough day at the office, but the girls kept their heads high and gave it their all until the end whistle.
