A grade coach John Arthur said it’s an ‘‘absolutely vital’’ win for his team.
‘‘We want to make finals, and if you lose games to teams that are level on points or below, it becomes difficult to stay on top,’’ Arthur said.
‘‘We’re going to play hard cricket and we’re going there to win.’’
While the two recent back-to-back wins for the A grade have positioned them well, Arthur believes his team need to maintain strength at the outset of each match.
‘‘These games haven’t started as quick as what we’d want.’’
On Saturday, Dean Edge’s aggressive work with the bat and Brad Todd’s solid batting and tight bowling showed promise of continuing success.
Brodie Bennett is a hopeful addition for selection too.
Tocumwal has only seen one win in four games this season, going down to Nathalia.
But Arthur says he’s under ‘‘no illusion’’ of an easy match.
‘‘Traditionally, Toc have given us a fair bit of trouble.
‘‘We have won on most occasions (in the past) but there’s been moments where they were on top.
‘‘It just takes one person to have a good day with a ball.’’
The A grade game starts at 12.30pm, while the B Grade start at 1pm.
