Without a committee, the club will not be able to field a team this season.
The Wanderers have put a call-out to the community, seeking support for the rescheduled AGM, which is next Monday, February 16 at 6.30pm at the Deni Bowling Club.
Past committee member John Haig said the club is looking for new people to fill vacancies.
“We have seven roles to fill and a general committee to put together so we’re looking for some new members to step up,” he said.
“In the past we’ve had a long-standing committee, largely made up of the same people who have been involved for many years, as well as playing and organising training sessions.
“They are looking to step down so we need new blood to take up the executive roles and assist running the club into the future.
“We did have one new executive member, our secretary, in 2025 which was welcomed.
“Heading back into the season, we’re looking for any players, parents of players or any interested people from the community to take up some executive roles.”
Mr Haig said a committee is essential to the club’s future, and anyone new to the executive would be well-supported.
“Without a strong, vibrant committee, the club doesn’t function.” he said.
“People should not be worried about joining the committee, as it is open to anyone interested in senior soccer and helping the Wanderers that play in the Bendigo League.
“Many hands make light work. No experience is needed, and new committee members will also still have the help of the experienced members.
“Current players or any past committee members around town who could help would also be very welcome.
“We’re confident we’ll get together a team, we always do, but we will need a committee to support the team.”
The club have also started training sessions, which take place on Thursdays from 6.30pm at Rotary Park, with anyone interested, even just to train, welcome to take part.
“We kicked off training this week on Thursday. New players are welcome to come down to training and there is no commitment that they have to play on the weekend, they can just come down and have a kick.
“Pre-season training is not super intense, it is just to get the rust out and get moving again.”
