With just two rounds to play and finals places on the line, teams were out in force to give their side the best chance of the win.
It was said in the lead up to round six that the Eclectics, despite sitting bottom of the ladder, were still a mathematical chance to play finals.
Their upset 140-130 win over defending premiers the Bush Whackers kept those mathematical hopes well and truly alive.
John Wacheke returned an excellent 38 points for the Eclectics, with captain Ali Ferguson providing valuable scoring support with 37.
Shandra Simpson’s 35 and Prue Grant’s 30 rounded out an impressive team total.
For Bush Whackers, Ben Littman had led his team in scoring in three of the previous five rounds and he did again this week with 35 points.
Jill Jeffrey provided 34, Jason Kerr 31 and Peter Winchcomb 30.
Bush Whackers drop to fourth on the ladder, with the top four progressing to the finals, but face a must win final round match against the in form Wedgies.
A loss is likely to see them drop out of the top four, with the teams percentage being the decisive factor.
The Eclectics of course must win their last match to be any chance of finals, but also must rely on Bush Whackers and Par-Tee Poppers losing.
On the positive, they have the highest percentage of all teams fighting for fourth place on the ladder.
The Wedgies secured their finals place with a 141-130 win over the Par-Tee Poppers.
Sarah Aitken was again best for the Wedgies with 39 points.
She was well supported by Magnus Aitken and Gary Rodda who each scored 35, and Vince Kelly with 32.
Anne Bull and Will Bull each scored 34 points for the Par-Tee Poppers.
Anita Gorsuch 32 and Sue Butcher 30 completed their team score.
The Par-Tee Poppers remain fifth on the ladder.
They require a win in the last round but must also rely on a Bush Whackers loss if they are to jump into the top four.
The Wedgies retain second place on the ladder and will seal the double chance with a win in the last round.
Tell Him He’s Dreamin retained top spot on the ladder with a resounding 132-118 win over the Old Boys.
Noel Swainger lead from the front with 34 points, Bob Landy and Ashley Hall each scored 33 with Andrew Brunker completing the team score with 23.
Old Boys have struggled to get players on the course each week this season, but they were lead by Brian Dixon with 34 points, with Dan Wade returning 32.
However, no other player was able to score more than 27 for the team.
Old Boys are now sitting last on the ladder.
They must win by a huge margin in the last round and rely on other teams losing to jump into a finals place.
Big Ballers also secured a finals place with a 139-127 win over Eagles and Birdies.
Ross Taylor scored an excellent 39 points, with Ross Burnham scoring 35, Scott Tritton 33 and Troy Grant 32 ensuring they weren’t going to be challenged by the Birdies.
Ginny Lange was best for her team with 35 points, Grace Tiri returned 32, Kerran Leetham 31 and a score of 29 completed the team score.
Big Ballers moved up to third on the ladder, while Eagles and Birdies sit seventh with a round to play.
The Birdies will need to defeat the top of the table Dreamers in the last round, and then rely on the other three results falling in their favour to take fourth place.
Unfortunately due to the rising flood waters and course status, the Premier League competition has been suspended.
The club plans to recommence the competition when the full 18 holes reopens in the coming weeks.
