The Rhinos earned their spot after an impressive win against Nathalia last weekend, and will play on their home ground at Deniliquin’s Memorial Park.
Team manager Peata Smith said the boys have played consistently well throughout the season, and are very deserving of their second place position heading into finals.
‘‘They are feeling really excited and confident for Sunday’s game,’’ said Smith.
‘‘Their second place position is proof of how hard everyone has worked and having the home ground advantage should help a lot.’’
A win against Cobram will see the Rhinos head in to the March 6 grand final.
Play will commence at 10.30am Sunday, and Smith encouraged people to come along and show their support for the boys.
Team profiles:
Sam Crossley (captain): Sam will lead the side, he won’t give his wicket easy and if he gets in he will hurt Cobram. They will need to watch out when he gets the ball also.
Andrew Smith (vice captain): He has played every role this year and has a fantastic eye. He can get runs quick and will be one to watch.
Hamish Baker (vice captain): Opening bowler that gives the batsmen nothing. Bowled with a broken finger last week and took two wickets. There are runs coming his way with the bat.
Oscar Marshall: Opening bowler quick. Look out if he zones in on the stumps — just about unplayable.
Oscar Wren: Works hard on his game. Has improved out of sight, both with bat and ball. He will be hungry for runs.
Charlie McCallum: Hitting form with the bat at the right time of the year, live-wire in the field. Left arm, on the spot bowler.
Ted Wren: Like his brother, works tirelessly. Very straight bat, but something up his sleeve with the ball. He is the Rhinos’ X factor.
Rory Smith: Another who works on his game, making runs at the right time of the year. When given the ball, also bowls very tidy spells.
Stuart Benger: First year player who has already cemented his place in the side, with his line and length bowling.
Tynen Rothe: Loves to compete. A little lad that packs a punch and won’t take a backward step.
Matthew Pitt: Sharpest set of hands in the team. Will bowl good lines. Also has been given license to swing hard.
Fletcher Campion: Will take on any role put in front of him, he is improving every week.
Tom Bull: Up and coming Rhino that loves to get in and take on the opposition every chance he gets.
Harry Bull: Played most of the year until leaving for boarding school. One of the side’s leaders who will be missed.
Charlie Bull: A big out for the Rhinos due to being at boarding school. Hits the ball cleaner than anyone in the comp, can bowl sharp too.
Dean Herberte (coach): Inspiring coach who has lead the team to yet another final, he works well with the boys improving their team work and their self esteem.
Harry Hillier (assistant coach): First year coach but has taken to the role easily and relates well with the boys. He has been a great role model and a fine example of a young man coming thought the ranks and developing his skill.
