North Korea fires another long-range ballistic missile

Monday's missile launch is the North's third major weapons test this year after Pyongyang threatened an "unprecedentedly persistent, strong" response as South Korea and the United States geared up for their annual military exercises as part of efforts to fend off the growing nuclear and missile threat that the North poses.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's sister, Kim Yo Jong said on Monday using the Pacific Ocean as its "shooting range" depends on the US.

In a statement carried by the state media KCNA, Kim said Pyongyang was carefully examining the impact of the increase US strategic assets' presence in the region.
