The day saw 95 players competing in the four-person stableford with best three scores counted Big Hole Golf event.
The day concluded with a raffle and auction, with all funds going directly to Tour de Cure.
Mr Kelly said he was overwhelmed with the support.
‘‘I’m honestly lost for words,’’ he said.
‘‘I thought if we got 100 golfers and raised $4000 then it would be considered a good day.
‘‘I’ve already exceeded the $12,000 target that is required for the Tour de Cure Signature Ride, but I still want to raise more.
‘‘Every dollar counts towards cancer research and finding a cure for this disease.
‘‘I’d like to thank the Deniliquin Golf Club and the ladies committee for their hard work to help organise this.
‘‘Margaret Rothwell in particular needs a big thank you. She made a major contribution to get 30 local businesses and families to donate raffle prizes and auction items and the day wouldn’t have been a success without her.
‘‘I also say thank you to all the businesses that donated prizes and money towards the cause, to all the volunteers on the day and everyone who played and were so generous with their donations.’’
