Local exhibitors brought home 19 awards and five qualifications to the Victorian Agricultural Shows (VAS) State Finals.
The regional results were achieved by just nine exhibitors - Lyn Rose, Linda Maher, Amelia O'Connor, Lily Petersen, Leigh Morgan, Alice Petersen, Izzy Pearn, Cass Wilson and Ayla Nganeko-Begg.
Going on to the next level based on their regional performances are Lyn Rose in both sewing and patchwork, Linda Maher for embroidery, Lily Petersen in junior photography, and Amelia O'Connor for her junior boiled fruit cake.
To reach a VAS State Final, exhibitors must first succeed at their local show before progressing through regional competition.
“It is a significant achievement and one our community should be proud of,” said Mrs Nganeko-Begg, who is the P&A Society president.
“While we are excited by these results, this is not the first time Deniliquin exhibitors have competed at this level.
“And hopefully, it won't be the last.
“Our district has a long and proud history of producing regional winners, state finalists and state champions across a wide range of show sections.
“These latest results continue that tradition and highlight the incredible talent, dedication and creativity that exists within our community.”
Mrs Nganeko-Begg said the results represent far more than ribbons and trophies.
She said the achievements across all sections are a reminder of the role shows play in bringing people together, preserving traditional skills, encouraging learning and giving people of all ages the chance to challenge themselves and try something new.
With planning already under way for the 150th Deniliquin Show, Mrs Nganeko‑Begg said the committee is focused on growing participation and strengthening community involvement.
“Whether your interests are in arts and crafts, baking, photography, livestock, event management, sponsorship or simply supporting a community organisation that has served Deniliquin for generations, there is a place for you within the Show family,” she said.
Anyone interested in getting involved is encouraged to attend the AGM, which will be held at the Deniliquin RSL Club from 11am on Sunday, July 12.
The Deniliquin Show is held the first weekend of March each year.
The 2027 event with be the 146th Deniliquin Show.
