14 year-old approached by unknown man

Police are appealing for information after 14 year-old girl was approached by an older man in Deniliquin yesterday.

The girl was walking to school along Napier St when she was approached by an unknown man just after 8am on Monday, May 18.

Police allege the man followed the girl and called out to her and said the girl immediately called her sister and notified staff at the school.

Local police have started an investigation into the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, with grey stubble and a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt, blue pants and a beanie at the time.

He was last seen at a car wash at the intersection of Harfleur and Napier St.
