While some mums were treated to a special meal, went out to other events or enjoyed a quiet day at home, several mother’s started their special day with the inaugural Deniliquin Mother’s Day Classic.
An event that raises funds, support and awareness for breast and ovarian cancer research, it was held in Deniliquin for the first time on Sunday.
Participants met at Memorial Park, after which they took to the Beach to Beach Walk to complete a 10km or 5km course. A 1km kids' dash was also held.
Many participants donned pink gear, with great prizes available.
There was also a special tribute wall, where participants and supporters could leave a message for loved ones affected by cancer.
As the runners and walkers finished up, they made their way to the other side of Memorial Park where the fourth Mother’s Day Made, Bake & Grow Market was being held.
Hosted by the Deniliquin Pastoral and Agricultural Society, it featured an array of stalls and entertainment for the whole family.
It all made for a Mother’s Day to remember, with those attending the events already looking forward to next year.
More photos from both the Mother’s Day Classic and Make, Bake & Grow Market will be in Friday’s edition.
