With nine sessions to choose from and eight service provider expo tables to visit, much learning, sharing and connection took place.
Community members supported the day well, starting with a Mentally Healthy Workplaces Breakfast organised by Deniliquin Business Chamber.
Following directly after was the conference at the Deniliquin RSL Club.
The wellbeing stream provided participants with resilience, stress management and self-compassion mindfulness sessions.
The educational stream provided everyone with an excellent overview of services available throughout the Murrumbidgee health footprint, with eight services discussing the wide range of programs they deliver.
Sessions focused on depression and anxiety across the lifespan and included sharing of lived experiences and available help.
The day also included talks on dementia, depression and delirium in older people and a session on loss and grief.
“We thank everyone who presented, our expo providers and the community for attending a great day of building capacity and empowering our community,” Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group member Lourene Liebenberg said.
“A special thanks to Deniliquin U3A for your support in manning our registration table and supporting the sessions.”
