The day will begin with the traditional Deniliquin dawn service at 6am, with participants forming up outside Deniliquin Newsagency at 5.45am for the short march to the cenotaph.
The early‑morning gathering remains one of the community’s most significant moments of reflection, drawing veterans, families and younger generations together in silence as the sun rises.
At 8.30am, a service will be held at the Deniliquin War Cemetery, accompanied by a fly‑past from a formation of light aircraft.
Former local and current service member Captain Jack Virtue will be a guest speaker at this service.
The Wanganella community will then host its own service at 9am at the Wanganella Hall.
The main Deniliquin service will take place at the Deni cenotaph at 11am.
Those marching will form up at the Town Hall at 10.30am for a 10.45am step‑off, continuing the long‑held tradition of veterans, serving personnel, emergency services, school students and community groups marching together in recognition of those who served.
Former local Lieutenant Colonel Frank Marchetti, of the Royal Australian Medical Corps, will give the address.
Following the morning commemorations, the Deniliquin Racecourse will host Anzac Day activities from noon until 5pm, including the running of the Diggers Cup.
After the races, from about 6pm, the traditional game of two‑up will be at the Deniliquin RSL Club until late.
