At approximately 2pm last Thursday the Emmylou was ready to embark on a four night cruise, but mother nature had other ideas.
A large tree fell during a storm and crashed across both the Emmylou and the Murray Explorer.
Both came out of it with minor scars, but most importantly, no-one was injured and boats can be repaired.
What a difference 12 hours made for the highly popular tourist activity.
The Emmylou was moved away from the fallen tree and already getting up steam ready to resume her duties.

More Eats and Beats
Organisers of Tongala’s second Eats and Beats Festival have declared the event will become an annual fixture on the dairy farming town’s entertainment calendar.
Operating pretty much under its own steam this year, the celebration of food and music this month attracted 700 people through the gates.
Tongala Development Group’s Amber Townsend and Kellie Brennan were rightly proud of the final result, assisted by perfect spring weather, and were moved enough to suggest the pencil used to lock the date into the Tongala event calendar would be exchanged for a thick marker.
Cobram Show returns
The Cobram Agricultural Show returns on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, at the Cobram Showgrounds.
Back after a two-year hiatus, the show is set to be the year’s biggest event in the town.
The program is jam packed with exhibitions and events, including arts and crafts, live stock displays and competitions, show girls, tiny tots, and flower and wool sections.
There will also be a dedicated sideshow alley, with rides and games to suit every member of the family.
Show highlights will include the Freestyle Kings - Australia’s premiere freestyle motocross team - and equestrian events (including show jumping) and music.
Gates open at 9am and close at 4pm on both days.
Aquamoves open day
Aquamoves in Shepparton recently held its open day, allowing participants to try out the facilities.
With more than 300 people attending, the day had a range of entertainment, including ‘come and try’ group fitness classes and a pool party for the kids with a range of activities, including a giant inflatable obstacle course.
It was the first open day to be held since the pandemic started and was a chance for Shepparton residents to get involved.
