Honoured this year were Owen Edwards Plumbing owners Owen and Jen Edwards.
For 27 years, Owen Edwards Plumbing was a name people in Deni knew they could count on.
It wasn’t just the quality work, it was the steady, down‑to‑Earth presence Owen and Jen brought to the local business community.
Owen was always hands‑on, building the business through skill, hard work, and a commitment to doing the job right.
While he was out on the tools, Jen kept everything running behind the scenes, managing the office and handling all the details that keep a small business moving.
And like many tradie wives, she did all of this while working full‑time herself, admirably juggling both roles.
Together, they built a trusted local business that supported homes, farms, and businesses right across Deniliquin.
Their contribution to the community goes well beyond plumbing.
Owen and Jen have both given countless volunteer hours, helping out wherever needed and becoming two of those dependable locals who quietly keep community organisations going.
They’ve also backed local apprentices over the years, giving young people a chance to learn the trade and build a future locally.
One of their apprentices, Patrick Keane, eventually taking over (and renaming) the business when Owen retired.
With their reliability, loyalty, and genuine pride in their town, Owen and Jen have long been trusted, respected, and valued members of the Deni business community.
