Competition headquarters will again be based at the Deniliquin Boat Club, with fishing taking place between Four Post Reserve and Steven’s Weir.
Organiser Andrew Jefferies said the event continues to grow each year, attracting participants from all over.
“It’s all about the river, having a bit of fun while supporting research and restocking,” he said.
“All proceeds go towards getting more fish in the river.”
The catch‑and‑release competition will see teams of two compete under a points‑based scoring system, with $2200 for first, $1000 for second, and $500 for third.
Every cod counts, with data collected to assist ongoing research into local fish populations.
Visitors can enjoy full bar facilities, meals, and $1000 in raffle prizes on offer Friday night, along with Happy Hour from 6pm to 7pm and firepits along the river.
Mr Jefferies said the event helps bring new people to town and creates a lively atmosphere near the caravan park.
Entry is $250 per team of two, payable at Deniliquin Outdoors & Camping on Davidson St. Payment is cash only, or via direct deposit.
