Community gathers for health insights

It gave attendees valuable insights into how lifestyle choices and early intervention can reduce chronic disease risks.

Deniliquin Hospital renal unit nurse unit manager Alana Tilders and clinical nurse specialist and Telestroke champion Rachelle Austin led the discussions.

They each outlined symptoms to watch for, preventative strategies, and the range of local services available.

Many were surprised to learn that Deniliquin Health Service is one of just three sites in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District to offer the lifesaving Telestroke program.

Clinical dietician Laura Callan also contributed after travelling from Wagga, reinforcing the collaborative spirit behind the event.

Attendees took home useful resources and offered enthusiastic feedback.
