Annually, the CWA Seymour Central Branch aims to donate to community organisations that support locals.
Fundraising through selling cakes at two Seymour Rotary Markets, members decided to grant their profits made to the Seymour and District Community House program.
The Harvest Hub supports the community by distributing fresh food, pantry items, hygiene products, pet food and other essential items.
CWA Seymour Central Branch secretary and treasurer Glenda Campbell said branch members wanted to support the initiative because of how valued it was within the community.
“With over 200 people accessing that service per week, we felt that providing a donation to them would boost up their food and meat that they put into ready meals,” Ms Campbell said.
She said the service aligned with the broader organisation’s values.
“As a state organisation, (CWA) provides support to vulnerable women, children and families in need throughout Victoria,” Ms Campbell said.
“A program like The Harvest Hub targets the principle of our organisation.”

Seymour and District Community House manager Krystal Bolejko said the team was grateful for the support of the local CWA branch.
“The generous donation from CWA is more than just money, it highlights the strong community commitment within Seymour,” Ms Bolejko said.
“We are so grateful for the support and recognition of all the work that goes into supporting out community with The Harvest Hub.
Ms Bolejko said the donation would support the community house to procure items it would not otherwise be able to.
“This donation will support our Harvest Hub by allowing us to purchase items that we otherwise are not usually able to source through our partnerships,” she said.
“We have had many requests from our Harvest Hub users for tea and coffee, etc, so this donation will go towards the purchase of items that our Harvest Hub users would otherwise go without.
“Thank you to the Seymour CWA for choosing to support us. Our amazing team of volunteers don’t ask for anything in return ... They are the heart of The Harvest Hub and offer so much more than just food relief.”
Those looking to join the CWA Seymour Central Branch can contact Ms Campbell on 0419 548 884 for more information.
“We’re a very active branch ... We’ve got even members at the moment and we’re obviously quite happy to boost those numbers. We’re a very friendly branch,” Ms Campbell said.
The Harvest Hub, which is located at 47A Anglesey St, Seymour, is always free for anyone.
The hub is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am and 1pm.
