Mr Woodward is also a former volunteer firefighter, earning the National Emergency Medal, the NSW Premier’s Citation for the 2019-20 bushfires and the NSW RFS Long Service Medal.
He said he would “like to continue to serve the community, but in a different capacity as your representative in the Federal Parliament”.
Mr Woodward lists his election objectives as follows:
1. Obtain additional funding for Albury Hospital at the existing location
2. Ensure additional funding is provided for specialist health services and nurses
3. Write off all student debt
4. Tax benefits for primary producers and small businesses with investment allowances and an increase in tax averaging over seven years
4. Additional funding for Aboriginal housing and ensure maintenance work is completed
5. Additional funding for schools including a tax deduction for secondary school fees
6. Construction of a dam in Queensland to provide water throughout regional NSW
7. Subsidies for regional communities to ensure fuel supplies for families and businesses
8. No increases in interest rates from the Reserve Bank of Australia during a cost of living crisis
9. Lower taxes and support for local businesses with a 100% tax deduction for utes under $125,000
10. If elected I will move to Albury
