The woman’s car was stopped in George St about 3pm and the driver subjected to roadside testing.
Police said she returned a negative result to the blood alcohol test, but allege she tested positive to drug impairment.
Police claim a secondary test at Deniliquin Police Station was positive for cannabis and methamphetamines, which resulted in an immediate 24 hour suspension from driving.
Samples have been sent for further testing, which may determine if further charges are laid.
In the meantime, the woman was issued a field court attendance notice for breaching pre-existing bail conditions.
Double charge
A Deniliquin man has been arrested and charged in relation to two separate matters after being stopped by police.
The 27 year-old was reportedly warned in relation to domestic violence related matters, and was seen in Whitelock St, Deniliquin.
After being stopped and spoken to relating the outstanding matters, the man was searched.
Police allege he was in possession of a number of different drugs, including pharmaceuticals.
He was charged with drug related matters, as well as the DV matters.
