Stadium manager John Arthur (pictured) confirmed the decision on Thursday, after working tirelessly to ensure the facility could reopen as soon as possible.
It comes after government and health officials announced that both junior and senior sport could resume from July 1.
Mr Arthur said junior sports would be reintroduced after the NSW July school holidays, which end on July 21.
‘‘We’re very excited to reopen our doors,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s been a funny time in Deni, as we haven’t had any cases of Coronavirus but we still haven’t been able to go out and play sport.
‘‘The town has done well to ensure that restrictions have been followed and now we have been rewarded with the opportunity to open our doors much earlier than first thought.
‘‘I’ve had a lot of players stop me on the street asking when stadium sports will resume for the past month, so to finally give a date is a massive relief.
‘‘People want that competition and we’re glad we can bring it back so soon.’’
Stadium sports returning from next month are men’s basketball, mixed netball, ladies netball and mixed basketball.
Mr Arthur said that a decision was yet to be made on whether the season will resume from the first three rounds that have already been played, or whether the competitions will have a fresh start.
‘‘I’ll be in contact with team captains over the next couple of weeks to discuss our plans. Anyone who I haven’t contacted should phone me as I’d like as much input from players as possible,’’ he said.
Mr Arthur said either way, competitions will have a different feel to them.
The stadium will follow strict COVID-19 restrictions, with the facilities needing to be sanitised between games.
‘‘We’ll be using different balls and netball bibs each game as well,’’ Mr Arthur said.
‘‘After each night of competition all of our equipment will be sanitised so we can be COVID compliant.
‘‘We ask that if you are feeling unwell to please just call your captain and stay at home.
‘‘A little bit of excitement will be taken out of competition nights as well as we won’t be able to have players hang around and socialise, but that’s just a minor sacrifice we have to make.
‘‘All players will have to show up at their playing time and leave as soon as their game is over. But at the rate things are changing, hopefully we can bring back the culture of everyone staying to watch other games sooner rather than later.’’
