The total yarding was 2,998, with overall sales of just over $719,000 for an average price of $239.84.
The heaviest fed lambs were in small penlots of just a few head, which affected outcomes, while the trade run was mixed.
There was a large consignment of about 1000 SAMM bred store lambs which accounted for a reasonable percentage of the overall yarding.
Price outcomes were similar to recent auctions.
But it’s worth noting the comparisons in this report are against the last sale held in April.
A few export lambs sold from $338 to $350/head, often with less than five head to a pen, which distorted carcase rates.
The heavy lambs in the 26-30kg carcase weight (cwt) range sold from $266 to $315/head.
A mixed run of general trades to processors went for $250 to $270/head.
The estimated range for most sales was 1070c to 1140c/kg cwt, although the few heavier lambs were under this rate.
The big line of store lambs, which were grown and showing a lot of frame-size but lacked condition, sold from $220 to $258/head to local feeders.
The sheep section comprised mostly smaller lots, heavier ewes from $215 to a top of $271/head for Merinos in wool.
Lean and lighter sheep went for $178 to $210/head, with high pricing for the better presented types.
Mutton price estimates were dearer than a month ago, but in the ballpark of more recent sales at 750c to 850c/kg cwt.
