The Deniliquin Croquet Club saw 12 players roll up for croquet under the lights on Thursday, March 19.
John James was the only three game winner scoring 28 hoops.
There were two players with good scores despite only winning two games, Andy Davis with 25 and Brad Fawns 23.
Two players scored impressive jump shots, with John James executing three and Andy Davis hitting two.
Sunday, March 22 had 18 members turn up for another competitive and fun day.
Everyone played by the social distancing rules as part of COVID-19 restrictions by keeping at least 1.5 metres apart, not shaking hands, although some players bowed which was funny to watch, and others bumped elbows with each other.
Players made sure to also sanitise their hands at regular intervals.
They also brought their own thermos with tea or coffee and bikkies.
It was a commendable effort to maintain a fun day, well done to all members.
Gwen Pearn and Andy Davis were the only three game winners, with the former taking out the honours with 27 hoops and the latter finishing on 24.
Peter Whittakers 27 hoops, Mary James 24 and Brad Fawns 23 also scored well despite winning only two games.
Quite a few jumps shots were made on the day with Davis scoring three, Alan Higgins two and Mary James and Marg Telford scoring one each.
Gwen Pearn and Alan Higgins also scored a handy hoop-in-one each.
Wednesday, March 25 had 12 players on the grass courts for the last day of competition before club closures.
Two players scored three games with Marg Telford being the winner with 26 hoops. Andy Davis was again a close second with 24.
John James with 25 hoops, Meyerene Geldenhuys 23, Brad Fawns 22 and Gwen Pearn 20 were also valuable competitors with strong scores despite only winning two games.
John James had three jump shots, Andy Davis scored two and Gwen Pearn and Brad Fawns managed one each.
Alan Higgins scored an exceptionally clean hoop-in-one which saw the ball through the hoop without a mark.
The club has announced that it will be closed until further notice.
