All leagues back in action this weekend

Following the Goulburn Valley League’s interleague clash with the Ovens and Murray League, all football and netball leagues in the region are back in action this weekend.

Echuca will have a significant challenge ahead of it in round eight of the GVL, as the group in green will travel to Princess Park to take on Shepparton Swans.

The Swans have been a revelation this season in senior football, having remained unbeaten so far. Could the Murray Bombers be the first team to topple them?

The seniors are slated for a 2pm start, while the A-grade netballers will hit the court at 2.15pm.

All of Echuca United, Tongala and Moama will be in action in the Murray League this weekend with tough matches on the horizon.

Both Moama and Tongala will hit the road, with the Magpies travelling to face Cobram and the Blues to Mulwala, while Echuca United will host Rumbalara.

The round eight matches will be a cause for celebration for the Eagles, as they’ll have their ‘Seven from Seven’ premierships 10-year reunion on Saturday.

All Murray League senior football games will start at 2pm, with all the A-grade netball sides starting at 1.30pm.

Leitchville-Gunbower has the bye in the Heathcote District League this week while Lockington-Bamawm United has an exciting encounter with Elmore at home.

The Cats will have their ‘Past Players Premiership Reunion’ on the day, with the seniors and A-grade games beginning at 2.30pm.

Picola United will sit out round nine of the Picola District League, as it has the bye, while Mathoura will host Katamatite.

The senior football game will begin at 2.05pm, while the A-grade netball will start at 1.30pm.
