It was part of the Little Launch 4-hole event during the school holidays, giving the club’s youngest golfers the opportunity to experience playing on the course in a fun and relaxed environment.

The day started with a 30-minute clinic on the driving range, warming up with chipping, 7-irons and drivers, then going to the putting green to practice those all-important putts before heading out onto the course.

The players then took on a shortened 4-hole course, with each hole played from inside 120 metres.

Putting proved to be the most challenging part of the day, but there were plenty of smiles, great shots and lots of encouragement along the way.

Organisers said watching the youngsters skip up the fairways, enjoy themselves and have fun on the golf course was definitely the highlight of the day.

Results: Girls winner – Cara Rinaldi; boys winner – Angus McGrillen; girls long drive – Cara Rinaldi; boys long drive – Angus McGrillen.

The club looks forward to seeing these little golfers continue to develop their skills and hopefully fall in love with the game.
