Deniliquin Bowling Club juniors Ella Hipworth and Tyler Hillier travelled to Sunbury on the weekend after earning selection to trial for the Victorian under-18s state squad.

The pair joined some of the state’s best young bowlers, taking part in a full day of trials as selectors assessed players for the upcoming representative season.
Being selected to attend the trials is a significant achievement and recognition of the hard work and success both Ella and Tyler have enjoyed over recent years.
The final squad will be announced in the coming weeks, with everyone at Deniliquin Bowling Club wishing both bowlers the very best.
Joker jackpot reaches $650
Another enjoyable afternoon of Deni Joker Bowls was held on Sunday, with great weather and a strong turnout of regular and new bowlers.
Col Knuckey and Tony Danckert won the day with two wins, a draw and +39, while Robbie Morris and Tom Todd finished runners-up with two wins, a draw and +34.
The Joker Jackpot continues to grow after Andrew Croker was unable to find the Joker, taking next Sunday’s prize to $650.

A light-hearted mention also went to Mike Donahue and John Murray, who managed to win just two of the 22 ends they played during the day.
