Tuesday’s Stableford again produced some fantastic scores. Ross Watson topped B Grade on the Blue with 25 points, taking the honours, while Dino “Flintstone” LePore once again wore the bridesmaid’s dress with a well-earned 22 points—usually enough to win, but not today.
Also scoring well was Normie “Mussels” Moule, who edged Eugene O’Connor and Rick Neilson in a three-way countback on 21 points, with balls awarded to Craig Thurston, Rod Newman, Ken Forsyth, Digger Dunne, Bill Wyatt, and Rod “Max” Nichol.
On the Red, new member Len Elliss edged Corny Boers in a countback to take the win—despite Corny’s impressive off-the-stick score, his handicap worked against him.
A large group finished on 19 points, winning balls: Graeme Lavis, Ian Shaw, Joe Sciberras, Norm Prior, Artie Massey, John Mason, and Bomber Mitchell.
Frank Warren and Andrew Brown closed out with 18 points.
Thursday saw our favourite game of Par, and scoring was again excellent.
Don Tipping took A Grade with an inspiring +4, edging Geoff Munro on a countback.
Michael Hope, Frank Warren, and Mick Doran came close with +3, while balls went to John Mason, Steve Williamson, Billy “The Kid” Hidson, and Ray Douglas on +2.
In B Grade, another countback saw Denis McNelly take the honours over Ken Forsyth, both finishing on +4.
Dave Holdsworth scored +3, with balls awarded to Digger Dunne, Peter Ferguson, Ian Barton, Eugene O’Connor, Joe Cilia, and Peter Dowie.
Important reminders: Fees are due by the end of February, or prizes will not be allocated to unpaid winners.
