It was the last game of the Murray Valley Cricket Association home and away season.
In fourth on the ladder the Rhinos needed a win to maintain a finals spot or rely on Tocumwal to beat Katamatite.
On the first day the Rhinos batted first and made a target of 7/209 from their 80 overs.
For their turn, Cobram came out to bat with openers Dan Ellis and Bodey Webb.
Webb departed at the end of the third over when Rory Bartlett found an edge safely into the gloves of wicketkeeper Jonty Tubb.
This had Cobram 1/9.
Ellis survived early chances before being dismissed after a break in play out for 13 hitting a sharp straight drive to Tom McCallum at mid-on who caught it well.
At the start of the sixth over, this early wicket had Cobram 2/24.
This brought batters Shaun Downie and Hugh Hyde to the crease.
Surviving some LBW shouts, edges through third man and run out opportunities the pair put on a fairly chanceless 109.
After the second drinks break Lachlan Holloway got the wicket of Downie for 60 caught at mid-on by Harry Hillier.
Requiring seven wickets with Cobram needing 77 runs from 41 overs the Rhinos needed a major collapse.
It wasn’t to be with Adam Decicco joining Hyde at the crease. The pair got their side to within 12 runs of the target with 23 overs left at afternoon tea.
After just more than two overs Cobram passed the Rhinos total winning the match by seven wickets.
Cobram continued batting for the remaining 20 overs which saw Hyde bring up his century before being removed by Boddie Arthur caught by Lachlan Holloway at short cover for 122 off 189 balls.
At 4/292 with eight overs left Decicco and Tyron Baden played attacking cricket.
Decicco brought up his century finishing on 108 not out off 130 balls with nine fours while Baden finished on 28 not out off 24 balls with two fours and Cobram’s only six.
It was a convincing win by Cobram. However, in the other match Tocumwal defended 163 bowling Katamatite out for 157 to win by six runs.
This means the Rhinos qualified for the finals and will play top-placed Cobram again at Cobram in a two day semi-final this Saturday and Sunday.
