Alongside several blockbuster games, it is sure to be a big day out with Ladies’ Day at Memorial Park from 1pm.
The Deni Rovers senior footballers sit precariously in ninth with six wins and five losses.
Katandra, meanwhile, are the current ladder-leaders and last remaining undefeated side.
The Kats’ reserves are also the last undefeated side this season.
In the A-grade netball, the Rovers are fourth while Katandra are third, so the home side will want payback in a grand final rematch.
In the junior netball and football, the Deni Rovers are better positioned than Katandra, but all fixtures are set for good contests.
The Rovers will be looking to build on a trip to Katamatite last round, before the bye.
The seniors lost by 65 points, which coach Alex Hay said has offered learnings.
“It was a disappointing loss against Katamatite a fortnight ago. I thought we played some really positive footy with an emphasis on pressure and contest, and I thought we brought that for the majority of the game,” he said.
“There were a couple of small windows where they got on top and, like good teams do, they scored quickly and really punished us on turn over.
“In general play, we moved the ball well, but we still need to find some consistency with our mid-forward connection.
“To the eye, I think the game was pretty balanced, so to go down by 10 goals is always disappointing.
“We have the bones of a really strong game style, and the challenge is to execute it for longer periods.”
The Rovers are up against the side with the best record in the competition, but trying to stay in touch with the top eight.
Hay is optimistic that the Rovers’ game plan will hold up.
“Every week presents another opportunity.
“I feel like we were able to identify a few shortcomings in our game from a few weeks ago, which I think we will be able to rectify.
“Katandra play a fairly similar style to the other top teams, where they will try and retain the ball and build it up the ground.
“Our team defence in the past has been pretty effective against that so that will be a focus.
“They also have a few very talented players, particularly through the middle of the ground so it will be good to see our boys go head-to-head there.”
With a significant challenge ahead, Hay said the return of one of the Rovers’ recruits from last season has given added belief to the team.
“We’re really fortunate to welcome Rivva (Karpany) back, who has come home after moving to Adelaide at the start of the year.
“That will be a big boost for us around the ball.
“I think this week we are ready to take on the challenge.
“They are an outstanding team, but I really believe that we determine our success in our application so we will see.”
