From Shepparton to Norwood, former Goulburn Valley League duo Nik Rokahr and Harry Boyd are building an envious legacy in South Australian football.

The 2018 premiership Bears have taken the SANFL by storm since arriving at Norwood, both taking out the league’s highest individual honour – the Magarey Medal.
And, at the weekend, they etched themselves into Redlegs folklore by becoming dual-premiership players at the famous South Australian club.
Rokahr and Boyd were pivotal in Norwood’s 14-point SANFL grand final victory over Sturt, earning their second premiership in front of more than 38,000 supporters at Adelaide Oval.
The 2026 Magarey Medal winner Rokahr ended a prolific season with 26 disposals, 11 tackles and seven inside-50s, while former St Kilda ruckman Boyd tallied 39 hit-outs, 18 touches, and seven clearances.
Their influence in the engine room was significant and laid the foundation for the Legs, led by a heroic four-goal final term from Tristan Binder, to overturn a three-goal deficit at three-quarter time, holding Sturt to a single behind.
“Ecstatic, I can’t quite believe it,” Boyd said post-game.
“It was a bit of a position we were in at three-quarter time, a little bit of doubt starts to creep in your mind.
“Sometimes it does take three quarters to break a side down.
“We created opportunities throughout the full quarters, but we just took them in the last.
“To turn it around in the last quarter, I’m still in a bit of shock.”

Premiership winners in 2024, the final siren at Adelaide Oval also put the cherry on top of a particularly memorable week for Rokahr.
The midfield maestro became the first player in Australian rules history to complete the Sandover-Magarey double, romping to a mammoth league best-and-fairest victory after winning the WAFL equivalent with Swan Districts.
He joins Boyd as a winner after his Shepparton counterpart took out the 2024 Magarey Medal.
Meanwhile, Shepparton United recruit Stu Horner led his Box Hill Hawks to a storied VFL grand final win over Geelong.
Horner, who played one game for the Demons this season, captained the Hawks to a 23-point defeat of the Cats at Ikon Park, collecting 17 disposals and lifting the premiership cup alongside coach David Mirra.
