Both the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club and Deniliquin Junior Lawn Tennis Club have opened registrations, with play to begin from mid-October.
The senior club is preparing to launch its next open twilight tennis season, with a 10-week competition commencing on Wednesday, October 14.
The spring competition is a social event, and open to anyone interested in having a hit of tennis and playing on high-class lawn and hard courts in Charlotte St, Deniliquin.
The competition will be a graded doubles competition, with men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Players of all skill levels are welcome.
Those wishing to play are asked to nominate by phone to John Henderson on 0427 814 947 or Clive Gow on 0427 489 490.
Teams will be picked, and all players graded, after the nominations have closed on October 7.
The junior Hot Shots Community Play Program and Match Play seasons for 2026/27 begin in earnest Saturday, October 24.
The program will take a break over the Christmas period, and resume in term one of the 2027 school year.
The Hot Shots Program is designed to introduce children to tennis in a fun and supportive environment.
The program caters to three age groups: Red Group (ages 5-7), Orange Group (ages 8-10) and Green Group (ages 10+).
Section 1 provides match play for the more advanced players, in a three set format.
Registration for all junior programs is $100 per player, which includes coaching, competition, balls and court fees.
