Young bowlers from the Deniliquin Bowling Club are making their mark beyond the local greens this week, competing in the All Schools Championships at the Wagga RSL Bowling Club.

Darcy Nilsson and Callan Glenn, are representing the Riverina and Deniliquin High School as they vie for selection in the NSW team.
Ella Hipworth, who attends Moama Anglican Gramma, is representing the NSW Combined Independent Schools side.
The club said it was proud to see its junior bowlers continuing to earn opportunities at this level through their dedication and hard work.

Deniliquin Bowling Club hosted another successful afternoon of Joker Bowls on Wednesday, with Jo Bovell and Tom Todd taking out the winners’ prize after recording two wins and a +35 margin.
Second place went to Steve O’Brien, Craig Murray and Mike Donohue with two wins and +30.
The $350 Joker jackpot was not claimed, meaning the prize will continue to build for next week.

The Deniliquin Bowling Club held its 2025-26 championship presentation on Saturday, recognising the achievements of members across all divisions and grades.
A highlight of the evening was seeing member Tom Todd recognised with Life Membership, in appreciation of his many years of dedication and contribution to the club.
In the men’s competitions, Conway Bovell claimed the Club Singles Championship ahead of runner‑up Tony Tonta, while Mathew Crothers took out the B-grade Singles title from Thomas Todd.
In the ladies’ section, Carly Crothers won the Club Singles Championship, with Jenny Tonta finishing runner‑up.
The open events saw Stephen O’Brien and Craig Murray win the Club Pairs, with Linda Harris and Lindsay Dalzell runners‑up.
Stephen O’Brien also featured in the winning triples team alongside Simon Chisholm and Keith Hay, defeating Paul Clear, David Hessel and Darcy Nilsson.
The Handicap Fours went to Robert Morris, David Hessel, Lindsay Dalzell and Ella Hipworth, with Stephen King, Alan Hardcastle, Mathew Crothers and John Murray runners‑up.
Christine Taylor and John Murray won the Open B-grade Pairs, ahead of Colin Knuckey and Robyn Little.
On Sunday, Simon Chisholm added to his success by winning the prestigious Ray Anderson Memorial Two Bowl Singles, with Steve O’Brien finishing runner‑up.
Chisholm said it was a great honour to win the award, adding it was something he had always strived to achieve.
