Things have been fairly quiet around the club as we have lost our greenkeeper and are now seeking out new ways to maintain the standard of the greens that we have become accustomed to playing on.

Many thanks to Rob Dennis who has worked tirelessly over the past years to bring the green to its present standard. Rob now lives 10 minutes out of Rochester and it is only logical that he should play there.
He has travelled over 350km each week to work on the green. We wish him all the best at his new club and hope he will always have a warm spot for Merrigum bowls.
Each Thursday we have a working bee at 10am and all members are urged to attend as we now have the challenge of the greens. Even if you can’t contribute physically with the work to be done it is still very encouraging to see our members becoming involved.
Every Thursday afternoon we have pennant practice at 4pm and coaching is available to new members and members who wish to increase their skills.
On Saturday, October 16 we are holding pennant practice for all at 1pm.
You don’t have to stay for the whole session but please come along and give the selectors some idea of who will be available for the new season.
There will be a board meeting on Wednesday, October 13 at 4.30pm. We have a lot of work to get through so please make sure you have this time and date on your calendar.
